Product information: Big CC Hayabusa GSX1300R Modular Turbo System

With the increased costs involved for many riders & competitors to turbocharge their Hayabusa Big CC have looked into & finalised a fully upgradeable turbo package that can work with the budgets of people entering into turbocharging without breaking the bank.

The new modular turbo system will be aimed at a low cost 260/270bhp entry system that can be enhanced with the necercery add ons to eventually achieve over 480bhp. yes it cost more than other stage 1's but dont be fooled!

Reasons to buy this & not other systems

1/ Power. No other stage 1 Turbo can give over 250bhp at 6 psi & be upgraded to higher power in excess of 450bhp with simple modifications. No need to buy another kit just upgrade this one!

2/ Boost control. This kit uses a remote wastegate & a hand ported turbine housing so it does not boost creep. Boost Creep is the killer of stock engines due to too high comp ratio under boost.

3/ Fuelling. Injector duty cycles with the fuel delivery are not marginal. We supply a 500bhp fuel pump with hi flow lines & fittings to ensure max delivery even on stock injectors. We have seen this set up supply adequatly 300bhp in fuel.

4/ Ridability. Using the GT30 based turbocharger gives superb riding control. High power levels are easily used under control without the bike being unpredictable. The ball bearing design eliminates lag & ensures smooth pick up of boost.

5/ Quality. 2mm thick stainless headers made from 304 by Jeff Hill, Ball bearing turbocharger, Billet CNC Plenum. Maximised fuel delivery. Polished pipework. Goodridge & Aeroquip fuel & oil lines. Billet Pair plates & billet oil block offs & billet turbo drain fittings etc. Remote genuine Tial wastegate. K&N filter.

6/ Reliability. Using a larger turbo & maximising the dimensions of plenum & the sizing & configuration of pipework inlet & exhaust wise  we ensure the inlet charge temps are the lowest they can be to optimise the kits performance. Less boost through no creep & lower inlet temps combined with a good fuel delivery system that more than copes with the boost pressure the system is designed to run at ensures the max duarbility & survivability of the engine under all forms of applications whether street or strip or land speed racing.

The basic entry package will produce 260bhp/270bhp & cost £3199+vat & £500+vat  install & consist of the following

Big CC Install includes stripping of panels, exhaust, airbox, Pairs sytem, install & test of full Turbo kit & includes a full rolling road dyno set up with correct air/fuel evidence. Cutting of the panels is not included (additional £100) but can be done so on request.

The Power Commander as with all turbo kits is additional & needs to be a minimum PC3 or PC3R or PC3USB not a PC2.

This package at 6 psi on a standard engine without modification will be good for 260bhp to 270bhp in this trim on a standard engine. With a low compression engine approx 5 to 10bhp will be lost at the same boost however more boost can be run safely. This kit when mapped by ourselves or an experienced dyno centre will be safe on a standard engine providing the Air/Fuel is corrected to 11.5 to 1 under ALL boosted conditions not just 100% throttle. Up to 5 degrees of igntion timing can also be taken out with no detrement to performance & is strongly recommended for land speed usage.

We set fuel pressure to 55psi & adjust the regulator fully in & back 1 complete turn. This will allow the standard injectors to flow easily 280+bhp without leaning.

To run more than the spring pressure of 6psi boost will require engine internals as well as an upgrade of the system for more fuel.

Please be aware that running a standard engine will require minimum Super Unleaded fuel & any form of Race use or Land speed racing that inflicts excessive heat build up should use dedicated race fuel such as 118 Sunoco. or VP.

DETAILED PHOTOGRAPHY & INSTALL INFO enclosed below.

The billet plenum is fully o ring sealed & multi screwed tight. Stainless steel support straps are secured onto the plenum through weld bosses & 8mm button screws. The left hand rear engine mount needs to be shaved for the insertion of the securing strap.

The Plenum & BOV position allows easy removal of the spark plugs & inspection of the throttle bodies/vac pipes. The fuel pump utlises the standard pump bracket for earlier models, improvised brackets will be required for later versions. The fuel filter is located near the rear brake master cylinder under the sub frame.

Twin dash 6 t pieces included in the kit alow the fuel rail to flow & return for better performance. All the rails tubes should be drilled through for more capacity. The FMU regulator is secured to the breather cover via screws & nuts & an improvised bracket.

The fuel tank  outlet for earlier models is replaced with a high flow dash 8 fitting while a dash 6 fitting is supplied to be welded onto the tank fuel return. 9 it will require draining & ventilating fully before welding. Later models have detachable pump/sender assemblies which need to have the pump etc removed but keep the use of the sender unit. Rewiring for an external pump is required. We advise shortening of the outlet from the tank to allow more space for the Goodridge weld fittings so to avoid pipe kinking like below.

One way blled valves should be t pieced in line to the bikes map sensor so to avoid it detecting boost. The 4 into 1 vac pipe is the map sensor pipes & nothing else should be detected to these other than the blled valves.

Boost gauge fitting is connected to the plenum. The Bov fitting & the FMU regulator should be vac piped to the throttle bodies spare fittings (not the plenum) to ensure correct operation!

The wastegate base fitting which ensures proper boost control should be fitted to the throttle body spare outlet, again NOT the 4 into 1 map sensor lines.

Oil feed to the turbo can be taken from the bottom engine oil gallery. The fitting supplied to screw into the engine may require shortening with a hacksaw so not to block any internal oil galleries!! Please check before screwing it in!!

The oil feed line you will make yourself to the correct length of your routing, please keep/ secure the line away from touching the hot side of the turbocharger otherwise pipe failure may result!

The fitting in the top of the turbo needs a 1.5mm oil restrictor inserting in it so to reduce oil flow & also stop capilliary action of oil when the engine is turned off.

Oil cooler block off plates are supplied so to remove the standard oil cooler. If these are being used you MUST remove the allen screw inside the oil filter housing to ensure correct oil pressure!!

The Bike will perform perfectly without its oil cooler including long distance touring & racing. We do offer an alternative option of a Mocal oil cooler kit which fits into the r/h coolant hose as an oil/water exchanger for which you would not carry out the above mod. But be aware hundreds of these bikes run fine without oil coolers.

The dash 10 billet oil drain uses an O ring for easy sealing & is secured by neat countersunk 8mm allen screws. Godridge 536 oil drain hose & fittings return the oil to the sump. A weld adaptor is supplied to fit to the sump or we will exchange on reciept of your sump FOC. This is much safer than bulkhead fittings that may come loose causing dangerous oil loss.

The turbo housings can be undone to swivel the compressor or turbine housings to the corrct alignment. please ensure the feed & the drain are top & bottom so not to cause smoking.

Big CC billet pairs block off plates are suplied for the removal of the Pairs system & fit above the headers. Use the old nuts to remove the studs .

Though not suppled it is strongly recommended to support the weight of the turbochargers with additional brackets or wire. the construction of the pair plates is such that they can be utilised for this purpose as securing points.

y

Oil filter removal simply requires the dump pipe section unscrewing.

Left hand panel will require trimming for the Air filter & the up pipe to clear the bodywork. Please note. The sensor in the radiator is refitted lower down with a weld adaptor supplied in the kit to install it. This ensures the 2" Up pipe can be routed without fan interferance etc. The air filter is a 4 inch short K & N filter that allows good ground clearance.

The Right hand fairing panel wil require clearancing for the dual outlet dump pipes to clear accordingly

Below is a dyno comparison of the Hayabusa GT3071R Modular Turbo in comparison to other turbochargers. The black is a GT4094R, the green is a GT3582R with a .82, the red is the GT3071R with a .86, the yellow is an RCC & the blue is a ghetto
